How does it work?
Two devices communicate wirelessly via Bluetooth Low Energy radio by pairing. A communication indicator confirms that both units are paired and communicating. Install the units in two locations where collisions are possible (both sides of a building aisle, inside and outside an exterior door, etc.). The two devices then function as one.
-Standard D-Cell batteries (included). No wiring or electricity required.
-Devices are portable and easily moved.
-Low battery indicator.
-Battery life depends on usage. Testing shows – at room temperature with one alert/minute, batteries are expected to last 4 years. (At -20°, with 55 alerts per minute, the expected battery life is 4 months.)
Installation
Devices are pre-configured at the factory. Attach magnetically or to enclosure walls and other substrates.
Optimal installation height – 7’ – 9’ (2.13 m to 2.74 m) from the floor.
Field of View
Adjustable from 50 degrees to 134 degrees for each sensor.
Depending on the layout of the installation, the distance separating the two units can be up to 100 feet (30.48 meters).
Single Zone Option
ometimes you just need to know what's ahead. In some facilities, there are areas where large objects are part of the structure, and you need to know when you are approaching or passing them. In this case, the Multi-Zone can be adjusted to a Single-Zone mode, where each device operates independently. In Single-Zone mode, a device will generate an alert when one sensor device detects motion.
Activate Single Zone Option
Open the battery compartment on the back of the first device to access the switch box. Turn DIP switch #4 to the ON position. It will then go through its initial warm-up period. When the warm-up period is complete, the status LED on the right will flash yellow once per second. This indicates that the device is in Single-Zone mode.
Note*
If you change one device to Single-Zone mode, its paired device will go into a fault state. This is because a device in Single-Zone mode ceases communication with its paired device. To stop the fault alert, you must also change the second device to Single-Zone mode. This means accessing the switch box again and turning DIP switch #4 to the ON position. The units will now operate independently and can be positioned as needed. Select Back to Multi-Zone To enable Multi-Zone functionality, simply switch switch #4 to the OFF position on both devices. The units will go through the normal start-up sequence.

The IPAS warning system is designed to reduce the risk of collisions between pedestrians and vehicles. While most similar systems work with RFID technology, the IPAS system works with ultra-wideband technology (UltraWideBand technology), which is considerably more accurate and has a larger working radius (up to 30m). A larger working radius gives drivers time to react even when moving at higher speeds.
Advantages of the IPAS system: The devices are easy to install and do not require rebuilding of vehicles. The antenna attaches using strong magnets and can be powered either by connecting directly to the vehicle's electrical system or to a cigarette lighter.
